Day-by-Day 8-Day Tanzania Safari
Day 0: Arrival at Kilimanjaro/Arusha Airport
Meet your driver-guide on arrival and transfer to your hotel in Arusha. Relax and prepare for the safari starting tomorrow. Evening briefing included.
Day 1: Arusha → Tarangire National Park → Karatu
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive among ancient baobabs and elephant herds. Picnic lunch inside the park. In the late afternoon, continue to Karatu for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Karatu → Central Serengeti
Travel through the Ngorongoro Highlands with a stop at the crater rim for breathtaking panoramic views. Continue into Central Serengeti with an afternoon game drive en route to your lodge or tented camp. Dinner and overnight in Serengeti.
Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti
Enjoy morning and late afternoon game drives in Serengeti. Spot lions, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeest, zebras, and other wildlife. Optional hot air balloon safari available (extra cost). Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater Rim → Karatu
After breakfast, drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Stop at the **Ngorongoro Crater rim** for stunning views and photo opportunities (no crater descent). Optional cultural visit to a Maasai village along the way. Continue to Karatu for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Karatu → Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha
After breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. Picnic lunch on the crater floor while observing wildlife such as elephants, lions, and rhinos. In the late afternoon, drive to Arusha for overnight and rest before the Zanzibar flight.
Day 6: Arusha → Zanzibar
After breakfast, transfer to Arusha Airport for your domestic flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, transfer to your beach resort. Afternoon at leisure to relax on white sand beaches. Dinner and overnight at the resort.
Day 7: Zanzibar Beach & Activities
Full day at leisure on Zanzibar's beaches. Optional activities include snorkeling, spice farm tours, Stone Town visits, Prison Island excursion, or a sunset dhow cruise. Overnight at the resort.
Day 8: Final Zanzibar Morning & Departure
