Day-by-Day 5-Day Tanzania Safari - Option 1
Day 0: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Relax after your journey and receive a detailed safari briefing. Dinner and overnight at your chosen hotel.
Day 1: Arusha → Central Serengeti
After an early breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Stop briefly at the Ngorongoro Crater rim for panoramic views before continuing into the vast plains of Serengeti. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Central Serengeti (Seronera area), known for year-round wildlife activity. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or tented camp.
Day 2: Central Serengeti → Northern Serengeti (Migration Area)
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Central Serengeti before proceeding north toward the Mara River region, following the Great Migration (seasonal movement). The Northern Serengeti is famous for dramatic river crossings and large concentrations of wildebeest and zebras during migration season. Afternoon game drive en route to your camp. Day 3: Full Day Northern Serengeti – Mara River
Spend a full day exploring the Northern Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives focused on tracking the Great Migration herds near the Mara River. Witness predator-prey interactions and, with luck, dramatic river crossings. Picnic lunch inside the park. Return to your camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Northern Serengeti → Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive while traveling back through Central Serengeti. Continue toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with wildlife viewing along the way. Arrive at your lodge on the crater rim or in Karatu in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha
After an early breakfast, descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive with picnic lunch on the crater floor. In the afternoon, ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha for hotel drop-off or transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) for your onward flight.
